This is a Quilting Blog?

I know there hasn't been much quilting content on my blog lately. Between getting ready for the garage sale, and both the great white hunter and I being sick, there hasn't been much quilting going on at my house. This week, in spite of the cold, I did get with it enough to finish the top of the red and white split nine patch that I started before I decided to make Christmas quilts. I hope next time I show it, it will be on the sewing/guest bedroom daybed, complete with three pillow shams. We have a guest coming in April and I want it done by the time she gets here. I am very pleased with the results on this one, I love that pattern and will used it again. (however, WITHOUT fabric that is directional!!).

I wish I had "smell-o-vision" for this next one. These are the blooms on our grapefruit tree. The lemon and orange have the same. When you walk out on our back patio, the most wonderful smell ATTACKS you. It is everywhere around those trees. It is so thick, you can almost see it. One of my favorte things about this time of year here.

These next two photos are flowers in our back yard. This is for those of you who are still waiting for spring to come your way. This pot of daisy is the proof that if you want to grow bad enough, you will. This pot is filled with plants that sprouted in the lawn out back. We have another flower bed by the pool that we planted these from seed about three years ago. Last Spring, we found them growning all along the edge of the patio from seeds that had blown from that flower bed. My great white hunter and the grand kids dug them up and transplanted them in this pot. Stubborn things, but oh so lovely!

These are a different type of geranium.........and of course, in my favorite bright colors. I can see these out my kitchen window when I do the dishes. If you look behind them, you can see the garden. The tomatoes and squash have blooms!

Looking at the flowers and all the green makes me want to hop in my car and head west...stopping only to get gas, go to the bathroom and eat...and get to your place. The flowers are so pretty - and being able to smell the fruit trees...ahhh!

Oh, yes the quilt is quite lovely. Is that the pattern where you take a 9 patch and split thru the middle down and across?

Have a fun Easter!

I'm in envy. We still have some snow on the ground in Ontario.

Do you get snow in Arizona???

So glad you mentioned the most powerful smell from the citrus fruit tree blossoms. I've been meaning to comment about it here in FL. For those who haven't smelled it. it is like someone spilled a whole bottle of orange blossom perfume. Nice if you are far enough away but really potent when close to a tree, let alone an orchard. When the oranges are being processed in a plant and you drive by, it smells like someone has been making tons of marmalade in a closed kitchen. Always amazes me when I smell it. Seems like every tree and bush is in bloom here now too. Lots of people are suffering from allergies. Kipper had to get a cortisone shot to stop his itching. I'm tring to soak up all the sunshine I can before heading north next week.

Oh that quilt is lovely. I'm going to have to try that pattern!

Wish I could smell the citrus blossoms. I've never smelled the blooms. Geraniums are about my most favorite summer flower. I can't wait until we can have them outside here. I have 2 in my basement, but will buy a couple more when it warms. We are beginning to see green in our grass...and my tulips are coming up! Guess there is hope that winter really will end someday!

Thanks for sharing your quilt and flowers!

My guild did a block lotto of split nine patch blocks -- a very cool pattern! Yours looks great! But ooooh, directional would be tough.

Thanks for the plant photos. We have had such a long winter this year!

Hey Amelia, wait for me!!! I want to ride along to Norma's house! What a gorgeous display of spring magic *VBS* I wish you did have smell-a-blog, wouldn't that be wonderful? I suppose that is coming next.
The flowers are soooo pretty and anything green looks good these days.
The quilt is really lovely. You did a great job. I have the link to that pattern, but haven't made it as yet. It looks like a winner. Hope your Easter was a happy one! Big hugs, Finn

Sorry that you and yours have been sick. Always something traveling around to take the starch out of ones' sails, isn't there? Got my fingers crossed that we have gotten through the winter without the upper respiratory troubles, LOL, just in time for the spring sinus mess.

What a pretty quilt! I'll page back to see where found the pattern.
