It happened. I have been "removed" from the "Quilting for Fun" web ring. I do not measure up, folks. My dreams of being a quilting diva have been squashed. Once again I failed as able to function as the member of a group. Ah, I just looked out the door and the sun is still shining and the clouds are moving so.......think the earth is still spinning. I knew this was coming and took the icon off the blog several weeks ago so as not to disappoint folks who would come for quilting posts.
Let me say that the web rings are great for those who can follow rules, but I have discovered that making a quilt now and then is just a fraction of who I am as a person. What you see is what you get and this blog is proof of that.
Does this mean things will change........naw, I am who I am!

Sure glad to know you are not leaving the blogging world...just that one area of it.
Not to worry, Norma; no biggy. When I first discovered quilting blogs I used the webrings to find blogs that I found interesting and put bookmarked them. Then I discovered the RSS feeds. Now with my own blog, I use the bloglines feed and can check for new posts easily. I don't pay much attention to the webrings anymore.
My huge (& ever growing) list of favorites are always blogs such as yours that include stuff other than just quilting. It feels more like a giant online quilt guild when we share all the other interests in our lives, too, not just quilt related things.
Well, I don't know why you don't measure up. I have been reading your blog for sometime and I have enjoyed it a lot. If fact I made my husband make be a ruler holder after I saw yours. Hope that is OK. Mine is shorter and not made of such fancy wood though.
I worry about being booted from a quilt guild that I belong to locally. I love quilting and participating, but I do not like teaching a project and that is something they pretty much expect each of us to do every once in awhile. I am very happy to be mostly making quilts for Linus Project. Just don't quit blogging.
Well, I hope you don't quite quilting and blogging. I will continue to read your blog and guess what I have never belonged to a ring. I applied and other got in before me and now I am happy that I was never accepted. I would not have the freedom to post what I want and I don't have to worry about quildlines. Enjoy the freedom.
Hey, how about joining a group of non-joiners? Once in a while I think about joining a group. I really wanted to join one when I first started reading blogs but then realized I'm just not a joiner. I'm retired and don't have to make timelines or any other requirements. I like it that way.
I'm confused, because that's how I just found your blog. Another mystery of cyberspace, I guess. :)
Hey I'm still here.... as are all your bloggy neighbours abd the fun has just begun.
Keep on posting... we all luv yah!!!
I wanted to join a ring when I first started reading blogs. I thought everyone was in a ring. I could never get to one before it was closed. So, I decided I would start a blog and that would be my "ring". My ring is ever expanding and that is the way I like it. You and your blog are great. So I don't think you need a ring to make anything better. Although, a diamond ring might be nice!
Collecting rings or readers don't make the quilter.
We have enough rules in our lives already, and I have so many other interests, it's hard to nail it down to just one!
I have you on a reader. When you blog I'm there!

Great attitude, I break the rules too, it keeps life interesting. Thanks for visiting my blog as well. You mentioned being a fellow insomniac (it's now 4:10 AM btw), I had to stop listening to my hunger too when I woke up, but do have a small glass of milk. I think it helps me go back to sleep, Some of the time anyway. It seems the more I have to get sleep for the next day, the more times I wake up and can't go back to sleep. AAARRRGGG! Sweet dreams, RIGHT!

Sorry you got the boot! I never joined a webring after the first and only one I joined ended. I've been able to find special friends like you without the obligation of having to post certain things on a schedule. I post when I have time...about what I want...because my life just doesn't follow a schedule. In fact, it is quite hectic lately. So glad to list you as one of my very best on-line friends!
I stopped reading cross stitch blogs because that's all they ever talked about. Bor-ing. Call me wacky but I like variety in my craft blogs. And, I like getting to know bloggers through their posts about their other interests like their family, their cooking, their jobs, their vacations, their musical tastes, whatever. I very much enjoy reading your blog, Norma. Screw the ring. It's their loss.
You not only are who you are, in my book thats 'over the moon' plenty!! To heck with rings anyway. I think they have outlived their usefulness.
You just keep doing what you do and that always works for me. Hugs, Finn
