Half Way There

I have 15 of 30 blocks made in my "Chiclets" quilt. I am going to call it my "Half Square Triangle or Bust" quilt. I love the look even though it has a lot of my Good Will bargain uglies in it. Some day someone is going to be looking close at some of that fabric and be wondering "WHY?" Oh well, in 2 inch squares, how bad can it be? I am really pleased with the patchwork border, think I will use that idea more often. One piece borders are great but this one really adds the punch.

This pattern is from Brandy's.

This one would qualify for one of Finn's Frugal Friday posts. The only new, purchased fabric is the white. It was purchased with a coupon. The rest of it came from my Good Will fat quarter bargains. I wish the lady whose stash I bought at Good Will could see that it found a good home.

Now this is one scrappy quilt I love. I do believe the white just allows each block to pop and not all run together to the next block. It is definitely a patter I want to try.

I really like it too. So many projects to sew and just to little time.

I think it is looking wonderful and I say Why Not? Ugly sometimes makes for a very interesting quilt.

That is lovely - reminds me of a quilt I made for my oldest daughter. I think scrappy borders are such fun too - makes the border feel more like a part of the quilt. Good thrifting too.

I really, really like that quilt. Who would have thought Goodwill finds could be so lovely!

Oh, what a wonderful quilt you are making! I know what you mean about Goodwill fabric. I just bought 3 new sheets today to use as backing for my quilts. Most of my fabric comes from either our monthly fat quarter exchange in our quilting group, or fabric I bring home from the thrift stores in the form of sheets, valances, cloth shower curtains, or just fabric someone donated.

I am a thrift store junkie at heart, and I am glad I found your blog. I will be a constant reader of your blog.
Be blessed!

I made this pattern a couple of years ago! Still don't have it quilted but I just love how the top turned out! Sure wish I had done my border like yours, I just did a plain border.
